My Father Lt. Richard Sutton (Co-Pilot) and Lt. Salvadonre Morriello (Pilot) flew this brand new B-24 from Topeka to Europe, via the southern route, in April 1944. The plane was lost when it went down 21 Jul 44 (MACR 7253). Fortunately, my father was aboard SKY CHIEF that day.

There was one survivor of the Gengler crew, Co-Pilot John P. Cowger, taken prisoner by the Germans.
