My dad was Leland Simpson, although everyone called him "Spike", and flew as a lead Bombardier with the 701st Bomb Squadron. Aircraft was named after my dad’s first wife, an English teacher he met and married while stationed at Borenquin Field, Puerto Rico in 1939.
