My Uncle, T/Sgt. Charles N. Witham (Engineer/Top Turret Gunner), was shot down over the Philippines, 8 Nov 44 (MACR 10461). He died on impact after bailing out and being strafed by the Japanesse, collapsing his parachute, and falling 5000 feet.
