Lost on 52nd mission, 5 Aug 44. Received a direct flak hit in #4 engine, which burst into flames. Lost altitude rapidly, but under control. Eight chutes were seen to open. Made a successful crash-landing at Wesermunde (Pilot - Terry) - MACR 7697 - 1 KIA / 8 or 9 POW
