The commission to paint the name and nose art was given at Bangor, Maine, by the replacement crew which ferried the ship to the UK under ATC Movement Orders.
The crew was assigned to 491st BG and, after ETO modifications (that would have included he blister navigator's windows) at BAD 2, Warton, the aircraft was eventually assigned to 458th BG, where it remained throughout its service in 753rd BS as J4 D.
