Taken in Shipdham, England. Pilot Capt. J. W. Swanson (in place of McAtee) was shot down by flak and fighters over Kiel, Germany 14 May 43, while bombing Krupp Submarine Works. All officers taken POW, all enlisted KIA. Christensen and Wolf are buried in Ardennes American Cemetery. 44th Bomb Group was awarded the first (of two) Presidential Unit Citations for the attack. Standing in far row - Maintenance Crew (Names not known).
