Formally with the 392nd Bomb Group without flying any missions with them. Crash landed at Woodchurch, near Kingsnorth, Kent, England on return from the March 16, 1944 mission to Friedrichshafen. Only three of Pilot Lt. John I. Scarborough's crew survived. (7 KIA)

Research Team Comments: Was known also as "Moby Dick" (painted under the nose turret). This a/c was known as "K BAR" (K) because of call sign tail letter. It was an original 392/579 ship with call letter "M BAR" (M) and was transferred to 44/67 before 9 Oct 43 to become " K BAR" (K). It was salvaged after crash-landing on 16 Mar 44.
