	An original cadre ship acquired 1 Nov 43 and assigned to Grimmer's crew who flew her overseas in Dec 43. The pilot named her
    after a girl friend in Topeka, just before leaving for overseas. The Crew
    Chief  was Sgt. Rudolph Lesquere. DIXIE BELLE was downed over 
	Bucharest, Romania 4 Apr 44. This was the Presidential Unit Citation mission 
	with Kendall's crew aboard.  Shortly after the target, during the midst 
	of the furious air battle with enemy fighters, DIXIE BELLE was observed to 
	fall out of formation with the number-3 engine on fire.  2 KIA and 8 
	POW
