Contributor - Jerry
L. Lind
Based at Stornora, Italy, with my Brother, SSgt. Robert C. Lind (Tail Gunner
- kneeling 3rd from right). All were killed when
shot down over Augsburg, Germany 27 Feb 45 in another aircraft, 44-10568
(J-65-CF).

My Uncle, 2nd Lt. Lee O. Bogue, Jr. (Co-Pilot), is not in the photo.
He was a substitute Co-Pilot that day for Ernest Lindley, who is in the photo.
Lindley had an operation and was unable to fly. Puppy’s name was Tracer. Lindley and all of my uncle’s original crew made it back to the US safely after the war.
