This plane was originally assigned to the 492nd Bomb Group and
was taken overseas by the Gus Konstand crew of the 857th Bomb
Squadron. This crew was number 711, which explains the
"seven" and "eleven" showing on the dice in
the nose art.
The plane flew 15 missions with the 492nd Bomb Group, and
after the Group disbanded in August, 1944, the plane was
transferred to the 93rd Bomb Group. Returned to the U.S. after VE Day.
