Ship #21 (flown by Linn's crew) Th' INHOOMIN CRITTER unloads 1000 pound bombs on the Latisana, Italy Rail Road Bridge 6 Jul 44. The trailing ship is #23 (flown by Progar's crew) MY ACHIN' BACK!! (42-52434).
Replacement ship received 5 May 44 and lost 9 Jul 44 on return from attacking the Concordia-Vega refinery on the 449th's BG's "Presidential Unit Citation" mission to Ploesti, Romania. Was hit by flak over the target area and was seen to be jettisoning equipment (had the #3 engine feathered at Kragojevac).
At Visegrad, Lt. Drigger's crew bailed out and nine chutes were seen to open. One of three 449th Bomb Group's ships lost that day. (Bombing was by Pathfinder methods through the Ploesti smoke screen and was highly successful.)
