Lt Alfred Hansen (CP) flying with only one outboard engine functioning, landed on a sand bar in the middle of a river. Crash trapped the wounded pilot and bombardier. Infantry firefight broke out between Japanese troops on one side of river and Chinese troops on the other. Chinese won and rescued survivors of crash; 3 crewmen were dead.
