Take-off accident on 16 Oct 44 at Iesi airfield, near Ancona, Italy. The B-24 struck Martin Marauder Mk III HD520 (USAAF B-26F-6 MA 42-96447 supplied to the RAF under Lend-lease) assigned to SAAF 21 Squadron with RCL S. The Marauder was parked on the airfield where it was based.
