The story behind the photo is that my 2nd cousin, Mario J. Rota (Navigator, right), was on one of the first flights of B-24s returning back to the U.S. after the war ended in Europe. Also shown, left to right: Robert H. Heller (Pilot), John D. "Jack" Purvis (Engineer), and Jack Gerber from CBS News.
