The story behind the photo is that my 2nd cousin, Mario Rota, was the Navigator for one of the first flights of B-24s returning back to the U.S. after the war ended in Europe. That's Mario, on the extreme right of the photo. CBS news interviewed him and some of his crew, after they landed in NY.
