Shown after taxi accident 7 Feb 45 (Pilot Willis Webb). Taxing out for combat mission, aircraft departed taxiway and slid into culvert shearing nose gear. Repaired and returned to duty.
Replacement ship received 26 Aug 44. On 7 Dec 44, RAG-A-DAS flew through the fireball of the exploding FEARLESS FOSDICK (42-51375) over Brenner Pass. All forward facing Plexiglas windows were blackened and much of the control surfaces were burned away. Flown back to base on instruments and landed with visual assistance provided from the top turret via interphone. Repaired and served out the remainder of the war.
