Shown with Robert K. "Ken" Barmore. He told me that the nose art was painted by their nose gunner, T/Sgt Leon Stephens, at Hamilton Field in March 1944. The name was chosen by the whole crew. They flew SCRAPPY from Hamilton Field to Catellucia, Italy, but never flew it again. The crew was shot down 5 May 44 in DEVIL'S DUCHESS (42-52094).
