Each star on the wand depicts 2 missions completed. Delivered to us while we were stationed at MacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida, where the nose-art was painted. We left the United States in Jul 42 and flew to SA, Gold Coast, Egypt and based near Haifi. Our first mission was 14 Aug 42. Lost 1 May 43 as it flew into another aircraft, flying through a cloud. All of our crew returned to the United States by Jun 43, and we all missed the Ploesti Raid 1 Aug 43. Crew members (1942-1943):

Along with ARKANSAS TRAVELER, I painted two versions of SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS, PRINCE CHARMING, and all "Seven Dwarfs" (three versions of DOPEY) on B24-Ds in the Libyan desert in Africa 1942-43. I never signed them and never got credit.
