My Uncle, James E. Robinson, was the Bombardier. Pilot, Lt. William H. Counts, and crew #40 were on Mission #67 (Target: Aircraft Factory, Aschersleben, Germany), 29 Jun 44, when they were hit by flak seconds after the bomb drop (MACR 7087) . Lt. Count was the only survivor when he was literally thrown from the aircraft as it was breaking up.
