Lost 29 Jun 44, GER - MACR 7087 - Pilot William H. Counts

Contributor - Taz Stang
My Uncle, James E. Robinson, was the Bombardier. Pilot, Lt. William H. Counts, and crew #40 were on Mission #67 (Target: Aircraft Factory, Aschersleben, Germany), when they were hit by flak seconds after the bomb drop. Lt. Counts was the only survivor when he was literally thrown from the aircraft as it was breaking up.
