An ex-93rd BG plane. Plane was flown for 8 missions in May 44 and 8 more in Jun 44. Crashed and burned at Station 179 on 10 Mar 45 after the nose wheel locked on landing.

Photo was taken summer of '99 in Norway where COOKIE (42-40549) went down on 7 Apr 45, fitted with a vertical stabilizer which had been salvaged from US EXPRESS (41-23674). The gloss black paint has all gone and the 93rd BG markings have been so "weathered" that you can almost see the original 123764 tail number.
